Product Safety and Care Instructions

1. General Information

These Product Safety and Care Instructions apply to all products sold through www.artekcraft.com and are provided in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR) and other applicable EU legislation.

The Website is operated by Artekcraft Ltd., Republic of Bulgaria. Our full company details, including registered address, company registration number (UIC/ЕИК) and VAT number, are published on our Legal Notice page.

Email: artekcraft@gmail.com

Please read these instructions before using any product and keep them for future reference. Using products contrary to these instructions may create safety risks and may affect claims for resulting damage. Your statutory rights regarding defects that existed at delivery are never affected (see Section 15).

2. Intended Use

Unless expressly stated otherwise on the product page, products are intended solely for decorative and personal use indoors, and as gifts.

Products are not intended for life-support or safety-critical applications, medical use, professional protective use, outdoor use, or commercial or industrial use.

3. Children's Safety

Unless a product is expressly identified on its product page as a toy, our products are not toys and are not intended for use by children.

Products may contain small parts, magnets, sharp edges, cords, or breakable materials.

WARNING: Not suitable for children under 36 months. Small parts – choking hazard. (Applies to all products containing small or detachable parts.)

WARNING – Products containing magnets: Magnets swallowed or inhaled can attach to each other or to metal objects across intestinal walls, causing serious or fatal injuries. Seek immediate medical attention if magnets are swallowed or inhaled. Keep away from children.

Keep non-toy products out of the reach of children. Where a product page indicates a product is suitable for children, follow the age recommendation and warnings stated on the product and its packaging.

4. Acrylic Products

Avoid: excessive heat, open flames, prolonged direct sunlight, impacts and bending.

Clean only with: a soft microfiber cloth, mild soap and water.

Never use: acetone, alcohol, abrasive cleaners or solvents. Improper cleaning may permanently damage the surface.

5. Wooden Products

Wood is a natural material. Variations in colour, grain, texture and knots are normal characteristics and are not defects.

Avoid: excessive moisture, prolonged water exposure, direct sunlight and dishwashers.

Clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth only.

6. Laser-Engraved Products

Minor variations in engraving depth and colour are normal characteristics of the manufacturing process and are not defects.

Avoid: abrasive cleaning, scratching and exposure to chemicals.

7. Vinyl Decals

Apply only to clean, dry, smooth surfaces. Test on an inconspicuous area first.

Do not apply to dirty surfaces, freshly painted surfaces (allow paint to cure for at least 30 days) or textured walls unless tested.

Removal may affect painted or delicate surfaces. Remove slowly and, if needed, warm gently with a hairdryer on low heat. See Section 16 regarding damage caused by improper application or removal.

8. 3D-Printed Products

3D-printed products are not suitable for food contact (unless expressly stated on the product page), high temperatures, dishwashers, microwave ovens or exposure to open flames.

Avoid temperatures exceeding 50 °C (122 °F) unless otherwise specified – products may soften or deform.

9. Mugs, Tumblers and Other Food-Contact Products

Products intended to come into contact with food or drink comply with Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004 on food-contact materials. Only products expressly described as food-safe on the product page are intended for food contact.

Unless expressly stated otherwise: hand wash only; not suitable for microwave ovens.

Avoid: abrasive sponges, harsh chemicals and sudden temperature changes (thermal shock may crack ceramics or glass). Take care with hot liquids – risk of scalding.

10. LED Acrylic Lamps and Electrical Products

Our electrical products bear the CE marking and comply with the applicable EU legislation, including the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and the RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU.

  • Use only with the power supply or base delivered with the product or expressly recommended by us.
  • Indoor use only. Do not expose to water or immerse in liquids.
  • Do not modify, open or repair electrical components.
  • Do not use with damaged cables, plugs or bases – stop use immediately and disconnect.
  • Disconnect from the power supply before cleaning and when not in use for extended periods.
  • Do not cover the lamp or place it near heat sources or flammable materials.

Disposal (WEEE – Directive 2012/19/EU): ♻ The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol means this product must not be disposed of with unsorted household waste. Return it free of charge to a designated collection point for waste electrical and electronic equipment. Correct disposal protects the environment and human health. Remove and dispose of batteries (if any) separately in accordance with local rules.

11. Installation and Mounting

Customers are responsible for proper installation and mounting, using fixings appropriate for the wall or surface type and the product's weight. If in doubt, consult a professional.

Improper installation may result in the product falling, property damage or personal injury. Keep heavy wall-mounted items away from beds, seating and children's areas. See Section 16 regarding liability for improper installation.

12. Inspection Upon Delivery

We recommend inspecting products upon receipt and reporting any transport damage or visible defects promptly, ideally with photographs of the product and packaging and your order number. Prompt reporting helps us resolve issues quickly.

Reporting promptly is a recommendation, not a condition of your rights: your legal guarantee of conformity (Section 15) is not affected by the timing of inspection.

13. Product Modifications and Repairs

Products should not be altered, modified or repaired by unauthorized persons. Unauthorized modification of electrical products in particular may create serious safety risks. Damage resulting from unauthorized modification is not covered and may exclude our liability for that damage; your statutory rights regarding pre-existing defects remain unaffected.

14. Product Safety, Incidents and Recalls

We monitor the safety of our products in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2023/988. If we become aware that a product presents a safety risk, we will take appropriate corrective action, inform affected consumers directly where possible, publish safety notices on the Website, and notify the competent market surveillance authorities.

If you experience an accident, injury or safety issue with one of our products, please report it to us immediately at artekcraft@gmail.com. You may also report unsafe products to the market surveillance authority in your country; in Bulgaria this is the Commission for Consumer Protection (kzp.bg).

15. Legal Guarantee of Conformity

All our products are covered by the legal guarantee of conformity of at least two (2) years from delivery under Directive (EU) 2019/771 and the national laws of EU Member States. If a product is defective or does not conform to the contract, you are entitled to repair, replacement, a proportionate price reduction, or termination of the contract with refund, free of charge, under the conditions set out by law. Within the first twelve (12) months from delivery, any lack of conformity is presumed to have existed at delivery, unless proven otherwise. Some Member States provide longer or additional protections; those apply where mandatory.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Artekcraft Ltd. shall not be liable for damage resulting from misuse or use contrary to these instructions, improper installation, improper cleaning, unauthorized modification or repair, accidental damage after delivery, or normal wear and tear.

Nothing in these instructions excludes or limits our liability for: death or personal injury caused by our negligence; fraud; liability under EU and national product liability law; or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Nothing in these instructions limits your mandatory consumer rights, including the legal guarantee of conformity (Section 15).

17. Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint, please contact us first at artekcraft@gmail.com – we aim to resolve issues amicably. Consumers residing in the EU may also refer disputes to an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) body. In Bulgaria, the competent ADR bodies operate under the Commission for Consumer Protection (kzp.bg). Consumers in other Member States may contact the ADR bodies designated in their country of residence or their local European Consumer Centre (ECC-Net).
